‘Dear Dr Nettleship,
I hear from my sister that the albino pup is a creamy colour on head, ears & back – she is 5 weeks old & I shall soon be having her home. I enclose her sire’s pedigree & her mother is named “Ting of noke” by Ma of Alderbourne ex Tong. Ma of A. is by Manchu Tao Tai ex Manchu Wei Wei.
I enclose you a photo of this litter of your Tong’s by Ma of A. There were 5 but one had died. No. 2 is the mother of the albino pup No. 3 is my poor little Pyuka[?] who died whelping – No. 1 is a red bitch also & 4 is a red dog. Tong had 2 litters by Ma of A. & one 4 pups by a red dog I had by Peiching Pakling (Piking Paul ex Valeria) ex Woo-la-lu by Peiching Pagoda ex Wee-lu both by G. Chun. These were all red. I believe Tong had a red litter by Wang chia T’ing of Alderbourne before I had her – I know she never had an albino puppy till you had her.
I suppose you have now mated your dog to a coloured bitch? His brother is a dark red with a lot of black in it.
My little red dog is named “Mimosa” & is by Brackley Kin chan (but Japs[?]), ex Sug Nan by Pekin Pom ex See Bah of Radnage. I can only fine one Ah Cum in his Pedigree, far back. B. Kin-chan is a tiny little dog & a great winner. I have shown “Mimosa” twice & he took a 3rd & then two 1sts. He is also very small & has no white, I am anxious to mate my Tong to him because he has an absolutely flat face, jet black & though he is good in body yet he lacks the “squareness” of Tong & I think she ought to have some nice puppies to him.’
