'In looking through [8-9] the late Professor Weldon’s mice data, I found a record, without comment, of two extracted albino mice producing offspring which could not be called albinotic. I have not ventured to mention that result till tonight, because we have so frequently been told that albino & albino will only give albino, & in the absence of comment I was not sure how far Weldon had himself realised the gravity of the result. But when I have learnt what can happen with extracted albinos in dogs and seen what happens in man, I have little doubt of the authenticity of Weldon’s record.' (ff. 8-9)
