Description: 'CHARLES HUNT, Advertising and Circulation Manager, was commissioned as 2nd Lieut. in R.A.S.C., August 1918. Served in France and Belgium and on the staff of the Supreme War Council, Versailles. Between the two World Wars served at home and at Gibraltar, Singapore, Hongkong [sic], Shanghai, Chinwangton [sic] (N. China). Went to France, 1940 , as O.C. III Corps Troops Amm. Coy. Present at the evacuation of Dunkirk. C.R.A.S.C., Orkney and Shetland Islands and Malta. retired in 1949 with substantive rank of Lieut.-Colonel on grounds of ill-health due to spinal injury incurred on active service. Succeeded Stan Cooper as Advertising Manager in January, 1952.' (19)
