Description
Thanks Creed for her letter and 'enclosed photograph'. Confirms that it is an example of the 'spindle + a pretty example it is, and a pretty as well as convincing microscopic specimen of it.' Recalls that he did not find any in the eye muscles of the monkey, nor Bethe in those of humans: 'I suppose the inference may be that the spindle as to function is not so different from some of the unencapsulated terminals, after all'. Recalls Liverpool experiments with cats who maintained foot co-ordination after they had been 'insensitized' - that their spacial awareness must have been 'proprioceptive, + in the limb-muscles higher up.' On the Creeds' move of house.
