Has heard that Sherrington's son is out (in France) . His own second son Leonard is in the Army Cyclist Corps. Talks about verse. Says he is learning Russian. Relates how Mackay has said that 'these fellows [soldiers] stand between us and hell' which is part of Sherrington's Admetus idea.
