Description
Acknowledges receipt of two Milanese incunabula from Sherrington. Finds agreement with Sherrington on political matters: 'Personally I have very little feeling with regard to private affairs in Germany now, much less than during the last war, when so many kinsfolk of my father's generation and my own were still alive, and ever since Hitler's rise to power I have been altogether estranged from the country. My only regret is that I cannot now exchange an occasional letter with Von Rath, the president of the Gesamtkatalog commission, who I am sure is very far from approving the development of things; and with a few others like him.'
