Description

Section of a pineal gland of a monkey stained with haematoxylin and eosin. There is nothing very characteristic in the appearance of such a section. It shows that the pineal gland is made up of closely-packed masses of polygonal cells with large rounded nuclei, arranged in cords and lobules. The gland is also seen to be relatively rather vascular. The photograph is at a magnification of X 370.
