Number of Sections: 4
Part of Body: choroid plexus, lateral ventricle of brain
Description

This section shows the choroid plexus in the lateral ventricle of the brain. Note that it appears as a much plicated fold covered by cuboidal epithelium (ependymal) and containing many blood vessels. The epithelium is directly concerned in the secretion of the cerebro-spinal fluid, which is discharged into the ventricular cavity. The section is stained with haematoxylin and eosin and the photomicrographs are at a magnification of X 4 and X 210.
