Description:

Dogs – Miss Brigg’s friend is probably Mrs Johnson of Keston Rectory near Hayes; she (Mrs J.) is a niece of Sir F. Galton & I am arranging for one puppy to go to her next week. If you think, or know, Miss B. has some other friend willing that will be luck?
Then a friend here knows a retired Naval surgeon, also I think somewhere in Kent, who he thinks will be willing & who is just the sort to be satisfactory if he agrees. I have a pair that will be ready before long (my last litter, born 28 Oct.) & shall be glad to send them to this new man if he accepts.
That leaves your Oxford man in reserve for future if wanted?
I expect Usher has told you his pair (Tong’s litter from 31st Jan) produced 5 pups about a week ago? One of my 3 born 28 Oct. has just died & I am keeping skin & eyes: the skin & hair of nose[?] I will note carefully after washing & hope to get microscoped re[:] the pigment question.
The new stock albino that I wrote of (at least I think I did?) is a failure as he was taken by a friend of his lady owner (Mrs Franklin, Islip, Oxford) before I had time to reply. I am both sorry & glad.
Counting up I find the 3 albinos we started with a year ago have become 21 of whom 2 died at birth & 1 at 7 weeks old. The 3 originals & 15 offspring living = now living 18 in all; not bad!
