‘My dear Pearson,
It will certainly be a good thing if you can see Jack & Jill & Ting & her puppy here, & I see your lot some other time in London.
We want to let the puppy go to a niece, - if she decides she can take him – before long, so if you can come before very long it will be best.
Could you come over from Reading via Guildford one day next week; you can come & return same day though the journey is rather a time-wasting one. Or you can easily come for inside the day, either week-day or Sunday, from London.
