Next I think I have arranged that we shall try taking the dog, if you approve. By the bye is her name Jong or Tong, or neither? Of course the risks of theft are greater in London, and she will have to be much of a house dog, but I should like to see further into these things & help, if I can. When would she be likely to have her next family? And ought she after that to be crossed with a normal Pekingese? I suppose we could not possibly tell whether she was (DD) or (DR).
We are going away till April 27th, & if I knew how my landlady would approve of my introducing a dog into her nice house, would have asked for her at once, but under the circumstances think it had better, if you approve wait till our return. Of course all this is subject to you having found no further quarters & there must be many better, if available, for Miss Jong [sic].
