Sent from H. Waite
3 Feb 1916
Description:
‘Dear Sir,
Thank you for sending Sir W. Herschel’s letter which I now return.
It is very gratifying to know that my paper has met with so much appreciation in such a quarter but I cannot help feeling that if Sir William had known how much of the credit was due to the guiding hand on which I relied throughout the work he would have adopted a slightly different tone towards myself & my efforts.
I hope you will not forget me & at any time I can be of service to yourself or your department although I cannot hope ever to wipe out the debt of gratitude I owe you.
I am, Sir,
Yours faithfully,
H. Waite.’
