‘Dear Professor Pearson,

I thought you might be interested to see the enclosed [present] which is a photo of Ola taken in August while he while he was away on his holidays. He stayed with some friends of ours who live quite near and the father of my friend took this photo. It is very like he often looks though he is not by any means as serious as this often. I think he was feeling a bit depressed at being made to sit still and “look pleasant.” Still it is quite good of him. Ola is very like Patsy in some of his ways but he is just as noisy as Patsy was quiet. He is very independent and runs round on his own a great deal. He is quite a famous character in this locality! He seems to have no fear of dog or person, is friendly with all but declines to be picked up & carried anywhere which is just as well since he does get loose frequently. He is not at all timid like the other pair were.

How are they getting on I wonder? We often think of them when we see Ola capering round. Of course he has sobered down a lot but still he seems livelier than ever the others were.

He eats very well is very happy & contented with everything. He is very fond of us all.

It was lovely the reception I got when I went to fetch him home after the holidays. He jumped round me in perfect ecstacy. He really is a darling.

Well I must stop now he is snoring on my knee so pard[on] the writing.
