‘Dear Pearson,
Sheila – no it did not occur to me that her muzzle was particularly long.
I shall send some of her hairs when she is again visited.
I have got a white pom. bitch & will mate her with an albino pekingese.
Cyclops a male pup of Spook’s, has arrived this morning dead. No information about him so far. He weighs 10 ½ lbs.
Coat colour usual creamy colour, very [thick] spectacle mark small.
Head measurements:
Head breadth 3.48”
Head length 4.39”
Nasal length 1.37”
Jaw breadth 2.26”
Fore-legs markedly knock-kneed mucuous membranes pink.
Eyes. R. was excised when a young pup for inflammation. L. iris of usual appearance. When removed the translucency of the eye is very marked, least at ciliary body.
The skin, eye & organs will be measured.
Post-mortem examination has not shown cause of death. Skull is being kept whole, so that [sic] brain will not be examined – right orbit from which eye was excised when a pup is poorly developed.
