Sent from Charles Howard Usher
24 Mar 1913
Description:
‘Dear Pearson,
I am very sorry to hear what you say about Mr N. I hope that he will soon gain strength.
Beenie coat is cream; spectacle mark not well marked, no photophobia. The hair is particularly long on all feet projecting well beyond the toes. P. red reflex seen; iris usual grayish colour.
Spook is about to have pups she was mated with Prince (black Pom.) a scotch terrier foster mother is in readiness for the pups.
Sheila is I believe correct.
Muzzle breadth. We probably measure over the 4th premolar, but as there is often movement & perhaps struggling it is difficult to be sure.
Cyclops skeleton. I shall try & get someone to prepare it & set it together.
Psychical set of categories no doubt would be very interesting but for my own part I see far too little of the dogs to say much.
One of the stoats that had quickly changed from winter to summer coat acted quite differently from what it had done [sic] during the rest of winter. I have no dogs here only 3 stoats so that I could say much more about the stoats character, temper, etc. than the dogs.
Yours sincerely,
C.H. Usher.’
