Description:
‘Dear Pearson,
My last measurements were made from similar points to those taken on my other dogs. No new points were taken.
You mentioned, I think, leg measurements. Are you allowing for these in the schedules?
I shall attend to J[?]am ban’s eyes.
Beenie (Pek. albino) x Dugald dhu (Pom-pek, brother of Donald dhu) have had 6 pups 3 albino & 3 black all died in 1st 2 days. Thus was accounted for by disturbance beside her kennel, a building adjoining is being demolished & apparently no place could be found to remove her from the vicinity of the other dogs. Formerly the bitch was removed into the building that is being taken down.
I shall wait for the schedules before sending an account of these six pups.
Spook has shown no sign of being in season so we are no further on as regards obtaining ♀ albino Pekingese.
Your litter of 7, 6 brindle red & 1 albino seem very interesting.
Has anything been done with axolots in terms of inheritance. I saw two white albino specimens male and female with red pupils. They had 1 albino offspring with red pupils & as far as I could understand the attendant of the place there had been [sic] 25 normal ones of same parents. I believe they are not difficult to keep. I knew some people who had them & I think there was 1 or more albinos amongst them.
Yours sincerely,
C.H. Usher.’
