Description:
‘Dear Pearson,
These photos [enclosed] may give you some idea of the appearance of pup no. 304. The following description of the coat was made on Feb. 25, 1915.-
Coat sable interspersed with strands of black hair covers back, sides, ears, nape of neck and tail, except tip of tail which is white, lower part of sides white and patch of white hair on each shoulder; muzzle is white & the white is continued up between eyes onto forehead as a flare; cheeks and part of right upper lip are black; legs white generally also feet and toes with a few very small sable patches, especially numerous on forelegs; mucous membrane of nose dark; iris brown. No measurements yet. The first description was “black & white all over.”
The stoat photos have been printed. Some of them will do well enough I am glad to say.
Yours sincerely,
C.H. Usher.’
