Sent from Charles Howard Usher
2 May 1915
Description:
‘Dear Pearson,
A small wooden box with the dogs’ bones is to be sent to you tomorrow. It contains 3 lots each wrapped up separately
1) Cyclops’ complete skeleton
2) Olga’s complete skeleton
3) Cabhagach’s skull.
I should say that the bones are probably sufficiently clean for the articulator to deal with now. The bones of Cyclops are considerably discoloured from long maceration. Whether that is a real disadvantage I do not know. If they are not suitable for setting up then another pure Pekinese skeleton must be prepared.
Eyes sections are not yet ready, but I shall report on them as soon as they are cut.
Very cold weather yet.
Yours sincerely,
C.H. Usher.’
