Sent from Charles Howard Usher

Description:
‘Dear Pearson,
Thank you for your postcard of Dec. 18th. Please allow me to defray the cost of Cyclops & Olga skeletons though you have already settled with Gerrard for them. They were part of your original scheme, but they were my dogs! However it is not worth fighting about for the cost is not serious. On asking Gerrard what U’isdean would cost he told me that 45/- had been charged for each (of Olga & Cyclops) skeleton & Kenneth’s coat 6/-. This makes up what I enclose. Please don’t bother to acknowledge it.
I had a bad time with the dogs not long ago one died, two or three developed sore eyes. I think the root of the matter was the feeding, for since the diet was changed I hear they are doing well. I brought Bertha here, she is in very good condition & is a nice beast, for fear of any infection. She came in season, but at the time all this trouble occurred and evidently there were to be no pups.
