About albino Pekingese, I am told by one or two people that there is sometimes a market for them, not high prices as fancy dogs go but I suppose up to say 5 or 10 guineas. So if & when you get choked up you may like to try to recover some expenses by an occasional sale. I certainly shall.
The papers to advertise in are “The Kennel News” and “Our Dogs”.
One of your Tong’s 1st litter born 31 Jan. 09, own[?] sister to the pain Usher has, has just had 4 puppies to a coloured Pekingese dog who has only one rather distant cross of our albino strain in him (so the lady tells me); all 4 pups are coloured. That is all I know at present. The mother & they are at Islip (Oxford), Mrs Franklin.
I had to go yesterday, for fear of missing the chance, to see a Pekingese with Nystigmusl not an obvious albino. I don’t know what it means unless some kind of inferiority in either sight or central innervation.
This pup however has some white in coat & her iris is in part of lighter colour than that of the other dogs of same breed at same place, so the Nyst. may possibly be partial ocular albsm after all.
There was an almost perfect albino pup (of another litter) there too, & I could not resist buying her though I ought not, - £5. Her pupils very red & no trace (so far) of spectacle mark. She is of course a relation of Tong & the rest. (Mrs Brabson, Forest Gate).
