Sent from Edward Nettleship
27 Feb 1913
Description:
‘My dear Pearson,
I enclose Mrs Dew-Smith’s reply which is explicit.
The “Maude” she names is another coloured [female] belonging to a friend of Mrs D.S. waiting near here to be mated with Jack when ready.
You need not return the letter.
E. Nettleship.
In reference to some of Jill’s recent unsuccessful pups one may say that Jill is only a moderately good mother; she gets tired of the babies. This may account for a proportion of the deaths.’
