Sent from Karl Pearson

Description:
‘Last night I went through rather heavy rain to the Beetons. Mrs Beeton, the son and Mr Beeton formed our party. Miss B. is on a tour around the world. We talk[ed] inheritance at dinner & I sat till eleven with Mr B. discussing how from black pigs with short heads and white pigs with long heads to produce a race of white pigs with short heads! I don’t know whether I threw any light on the problem, but he seemed much interested.
They both enquired very kindly after you. I got Helga’s famous letter this morning & I wrote on Sunday to Egon. I shall try to write to Sigrid this week; I hope she did not get a chill with her run. Now I must go to bed.
Ever your own,
K.P.’
