Sent from Karl Pearson
29 May 1914
Description:‘L.S. here to-dinner [sic] with me at 7.15. I have just walked back with her to her turn off Highgate Road with Choo. A long line of endless motors & motor-cycles, I suppose going out of London for Whitsuntide, but much dust & furious riding. I cannot imagine it goes not every night, but Hampstead to Highgate is hardly a direct way out of London! I am sorry to say Wan Eye has got an ulcer in her albinotic eye. It’s rather sad. The owner[?] brought Wang all the way himself again, obviously the environment fascinates him. Yours was a nice long letter today! I read parts to L.S. Miss J. off for 10 days holiday, none of the others appear to be going away. Tang well & lively. Why should not Helga send me a line? I should like to hear from her.’
