Notes that Charles Sherrington has been funded £10 funding for knee-jerk research (p. 107), and reports on Sherrington and Laslett’s research undertaken with a grant from the Association on the ‘dependence of the direction and guidance of the movements of the eyeballs upon sensations arising in the ocular muscles’: including examination of the eye muscles for sensory nerve organs - notes that organs (though not muscle spindles) were found which ‘terminate in fine arborisations in the manner recently described by Carl Huber’. That degeneration research has led them to label many nerve-tracts as sensori-motor that were previously understood as exclusively motor. (p. 108)
