Description
'Gentlemen,
This is to formally order the Engraving Machine with drills & new plates, worked by handle & fly wheel. Price £35.0.0. of which we spoke to you on 17th ult. The Engraving Machine to be delivered on or before April 19th next. We should like a set of 3/8" templates, letters & figures. Later on you will perhaps be good enough to make us larger templates if we require them. Will you however engrave us a specimen plate similar to the one we send you by post. When we see this we shall best judge how the 3/8th" size will suit us, & then we can ask you to make us a template.
Faithfully yours,
A.G. Dew-Smith, for the Company.' (f. 131)
