Description
'Sir.
We have today forwarded to you the Roy's Freezing Microtome that you have been so good as to order from us. The Microtome was tested today by Dr Roy & found to be in satisfactory working order. The instrument is specially designed for fresh tissues, but works equally well for hardened tissues if the plate is moistened with a little thick [foam?] water. This when frozen does not make the razor become so blunt as the ice[?] from fresh water does & works generally as well as [illeg.].
Yours faithfully
A.G. Dew-Smith, for the Company.' (f. 114)
